District of the Former Ravone Rail Yard

The project is being developed on the initiative of INVITALIA, with the contribution of the NRRP “Mission 5 aimed at promoting inclusion and cohesion, component 2 – social infrastructure, families, communities and the third sector – investment 2.2 “Integrated Urban Plans – Metropolitan Network for Knowledge. The Greater Bologna”. The Plan involves the creation of a district of mutualism, social innovation and collaborative economy through the eco-sustainable regeneration of a substantial part of the area, the conservation and progressive recovery of existing buildings (26,000 sqm of gross floor area). The buildings will undergo different types of interventions depending on their current condition: from energy upgrades, to refunctionalization to make them suitable for new uses, up to demolition and reconstruction. For the open areas, interventions include depaving and setup using nature-based solutions. Overall, the property owned by the Municipality will include approximately 10 hectares of new public areas, with buildings intended for public use, service activities for new productions, and collaborative housing (for about 300 people).
