HUB Portuale Porto Torres

The project consists of two macro works: extension of the western pier; resection of the eastern pier. To complete the two macro works already mentioned, there are other environmental interventions added to the original project as part of the EIA procedure. The extension of the western wall, foreseen by the functional technical adaptation, is rooted outside the Ponente dam with a wide connection and has a curvilinear course with an overall development of 680 m (built with cellular caissons), so delimit the new entrance further offshore than the current one and protect a large expanse of water intended for the attenuation of the wave motion and the anovres of ships. In addition to the extension of the Molo di Ponente, it is necessary to proceed simultaneously with the resection of the head of the Levante pier in order to ensure an access channel with a width of 200 m. The main specialized disciplines were maritime hydraulics, structures, geology and geotechnics, with particular interest of specialists for the analysis of the management and handling of materials, as well as the characterization of the seabed and sediments and the study of the weather marine.
